Alfred ‘Boydie’ Turner

A dignified Elder with a dream.

Born 1928

Alf Turner – Uncle Boydie to most – is a true gentleman. In addition to making his own substantial contribution to his community, he is custodian of the legacy of his grandfather, the Aboriginal leader William Cooper. A sought-after public speaker, he continues to share his grandfather's story in the hope of inspiring others. Alf is teaching new generations – including his own grandchildren – to stand up for what they believe in.
