Gwen Atkinson, a Gunaikurnai Elder, believed from a young age that anything was possible and set a plan for the type of life she wanted. Gwen found this life with her late husband, Sandy, sharing a life journey of 63 years which sadly ended on 13 April 2016. Not one to be deterred by obstacles, Gwen has been a quiet achiever, helping to establish health services for her community and achieve native title recognition for the Gunaikurnai people.
