Recognise a sporting hero in your community
Every day in sporting communities around Victoria women leaders are picking up the ball and running with it. From the board room to the playing field, women volunteers are helping our clubs, teams and players to thrive.
That’s why this International Women’s Day the Parliament of Victoria is putting women in community sport on the podium.
Members of the Victorian Parliament are invited to nominate a woman whose significant contribution to sport in your community is making a difference or inspiring others.
Nominations have now closed
Help to celebrate their achievements on Sunday 8 March at an afternoon function in the gardens of Parliament House, featuring guest speakers, light refreshments and entertainment.
Each nominee plus their guest will receive tickets to attend the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup cricket final at the MCG beginning at 6:00pm. Organisers of the final are aiming to break the world record for the biggest crowd at a women’s sporting event.
Help us to find the women working in your electorate or region to advance women’s sport so that we can acknowledge all they do to build healthier bodies, sporting clubs and communities.
